Can you predict the outcome of the upcoming Glasgow East by-election on the 24th July?  Gordon Brown faces complete humiliation if Labour loses Glasgow-East, where they are defending a 13,507 majority.  Glasgow East includes some of the poorest parts of Britain, and is in the top 10 of safe seats for Labour. But after Brown’s recent slump in the polls there is a chance that the SNP could win.

Tomorrow Times is predicting that a defeat in Glasgow will spark a leadership crisis, even though the result will come after MPs have left Westminster for their summer break. A labour minister is quoted as saying ”Are we worried? Of course we’re worried - nothing is safe for us at the moment, and that means Gordon cannot be safe either.”
